35th Annual Abbotsford Photo Arts Club Seminar – October 27 – 28 2012

35th Annual Abbotsford Photo Arts Club Photographic Seminar (APAC)
 Oct. 27th and28th  2012

This seminar is the largest of its kind in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Key-note speakers, renowned nature and landscape photographers John and Barbara Gerlach, will make presentations on both days. Day 1 will be held in Abbotsford, BC while Day 2 will take place in Burnaby, BC.

Day 1 includes two presentations by the Gerlachs as well as 32 hours of workshops covering a broad range of topics. As always, a vibrant tradeshow offers the opportunity to view and purchase the latest in cameras, gear, software, and photographic services. The APAC Photo Competition sponsored by Lens & Shutter draws some 400 images with cash prizes available to all amateur entrants. Day 1 ends with a fantastic array of door prizes (donated by our sponsors), up to and including cameras and printers. Saturday lunch is included in the registration.

Day 2 is a relaxed morning and afternoon spent with the Gerlachs in the comfort of the Michael J Fox theatre. After an “action packed” Day 1, it’s great to sit back in the plush theatre seats and soak in the imagery, instruction, and stories of this dynamic duo who have over half a century of experiences to draw from. John and Barbara are adept at conveying the joy and love they feel for nature. Their burning enthusiasm for nature photography and willingness to share information with others makes them inspirational nature photography instructors.

Palouse Photography Workshop, May 31 – June 3, 2012, Colfax, Washington

Mel and Janell Hoffman have scheduled another Palouse adventure for 2012, based on their successful 2011 Palouse Workshop. This long-weekend experience, photographing the rolling agriculture hills in southeast Washington State, is a great way to enjoy a beautiful part of the Northwest while improving your photography skill. The Palouse region is known for it’s unique patterns and textures during all seasons, but spring offers enticing photo ops from landscape to macro.

Starting Thursday evening, May 31, and wrapping up Sunday morning, June 3, with a “best images” critique, this Palouse Photography Workshop provides quality instruction and fun photography activities for the beginner and intermediate photographer.  For more details, check their website:  http://meljanellphotography.com/class-palouse-2012.html
